Aerial Yoga Classes

Our Aerial Yoga classes are designed with both beginners and advanced Yogis in mind, whether you’re looking to learn some new and interesting skills or take your Yoga to the next level. Through our Aerial Yoga training you will be exploring how grounded Vinyasa Yoga can be transformed into a flowing aerial display. Aerial Yoga training uses a suspended hammock to support traditional Yoga postures along with suspended moves to utilise space and create an aerial flow.

Please ensure you have read our Terms & Conditions, as well as our Liability, Sales & Refunds Policy before purchasing any classes, courses or workshops.

The History of Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga is a very modern and burgeoning discipline, having been developed as recently as 10 years ago by acrobat and circus performer Christopher Harrison. At the time Harrison was performing in a troupe named Antigravity and had been using the hammock as a part of his pre-performance stretch routine. Through experimentation with inversions and upside-down postures he started to notice how he would find physical sensations similar to those created by Yoga, such as relaxed muscles and a feeling of meditative bliss. Since then the practice has become immensely popular as a way of relaxing, invigorating, and strengthening.

What to wear during Aerial Yoga Classes

When it comes to our Aerial Yoga classes we recommend that you wear comfy, stretchy clothing that won’t restrict your freedom of movement. Equally, close fitting items are ideal as baggy clothing can become tangled, creating a hazard for you and others in the group.  Additionally, long hair must be tied back, and all jewellery removed.
