Circus Training For Kids

The circus has always held a special place in the hearts of kids everywhere, captivating them with its magic and imagination, and creating memories that remain with them for years to come. Our circus lessons for kids and young adults aim to capture that magic and allow them to make it a part of their daily lives. We run two separate circus classes for kids and young adults alongside each other, one for 5-10-year olds and one for 11-16 year olds.

In our circus aerial classes for kids and young adults we aim to use a variety of equipment that teaches kids how to climb, perform routines and tricks, and engages them with new techniques and skills. Our instructors aim to make this learning fun and enjoyable, encouraging games and creative impulses.

There are a number of great reasons for kids to take part in our circus lessons- it’s a tremendous way for them to:

  • Improve motor skills, flexibility, and co-ordination

These courses will also cover a wide range of disciplines:

  • Aerial Hoop

  • Aerial Silks

  • Slack line / Balance

  • Trapeze

  • Handstands

  • Acrobalance

  • Hula hooping

  • Juggling

  • Plate spinning

As a part of our ethos of co-operation and inclusivity we make sure our circus lessons are fun for every child, and that they are a part of a safe, exciting and friendly environment whilst being looked after by trained circus professionals. Here at the Forgotten Circus our emphasis is on having fun and enjoying the freedom and spirit of the circus!

Throughout our circus lessons for kids we will aim to develop not only their skills and techniques, but also their confidence and hopefully, a lifelong love of the circus! And who knows, one day they might just be the ones passing that passion on to future generations of children.

 

What to wear during Circus Training for Kids

We advise that you wear comfy, stretchy clothing that won’t restrict your movement. Leggings, tracksuit bottoms, tank tops, t-shirts and sports bras are all considered suitable attire for our aerial conditioning classes. Close fitting items are also ideal, as baggy clothing can become tangled and pose a hazard to you and to others in the group. We also recommend you take these classes bare foot to allow for fluid movement, but socks can be worn as long as you’re not in danger of slipping. Additionally, long hair must be tied back, and all jewellery removed.
